Life at APRIL: Photography Club
- Details
For members of Riau Andalan Photography Club (KOPRAL), photography is an art which allows them to tell stories.
KOPRAL was formed in 2015, when several Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (RAPP) employees in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau, discovered that they shared a common interest in photography.
Today, KOPRAL comprises 40 active members.
To support the club, RAPP often invites KOPRAL members to company events so that they can have opportunities to snap special moments, the results of which can be used when they join photography competitions.
RAPP also holds an annual photography competition, an event which KOPRAL members are always excited about.
However, KOPRAL members don’t just cover company events and activities. To them, the best photos and stories are the ones involving local communities and their development. KOPRAL members take part in documenting them too, such as the activities of local batik craftswomen at Rumah Batik Andalan.
The only requirement to join KOPRAL is a similar passion in photography. No minimum camera standard is required to participate – anyone can join even if they only have just a smartphone camera!
KOPRAL is one of the many clubs formed by RAPP staff at the RAPP Complex in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau. Take a look at the RAPP Basketball Club here.
